After Berlin turned 1, we introduced him to the wonderful world of regular adult food. He is not a big fan of Asian cuisine and very much prefer the western diet of bread, potatoes, pastries and pasta.

Every time we travel, we let him explore his preferences at his own pace. We always want to make meal time a fun and happy experience (although Tara will be the first to admit it can be hard sometimes with an uncooperative toddler).

During our England trip Berlin was in cloud nine eating his favourite croissants, pastas, pizzas and sausage rolls. However when we were in China, it was quite a different story.

On our first day in Shanghai, Berlin completely refused to eat anything besides his Arnott Marie biscuits. We told him that we didn’t bring any other food for him so tough love. The next morning, he must have learnt the idea of hunger and voluntarily tried every dim sum & noodle dishes on the table.

We truly believe that kids have to learn to eat a variety of food especially when traveling. As long as you know its hygienically prepared, why not offer some to your little one.
