In case you haven’t noticed we absolutely love sharing our travel experiences. Not only that, we want to share it in a positive way so that it becomes useful and inspire other families to travel.

We first started travelling as a married couple in 2010. We never expected travelling to be our “thing”, our obsession and our passion. Before we started travelling we only ever wanted to do THREE big trips. One across the US (which we did for our honeymoon), another across Europe and finally one across Asia. And that was it! How wrong were we. Now, 23 trips, 34 countries, 2 boys and12 years later, we are even more eager to explore every single corner of the world!

Pretty much all the perceptions we had before our travelling days are proven wrong. Everything from how unhelpful people are, that travelling is unsafe, travelling with kids is exhausting, it will be expensive etc etc. We found these to be mostly unfounded.

Every now and then we do go on road trips in our home state of Western Australia. As beautiful as the landscape is, we feel more inspired learning about new cultures, hearing different languages, see contrasting sights and tasting foreign foods.

We find meeting kind people in every destination is so addictive! Not just hotel staff, guides you hired, people at the shops – these are people you paid for! They are supposed to be nice and helpful. We are talking about strangers helping with directions, locals helping to translate, giving us tips how to save on train tickets, people starting conversations and welcoming us to their neighbourhood. There are countless genuinely good people in this world that it makes us want to meet more and more. Travel truly restores our faith in humanity.

As you would note we do most of our travel sharing after trips. We work very hard to be able to go on holiday with our boys (find out how we can afford to go on holidays twice a year every year right here). It will be silly not to see them in the eyes instead of looking down to the very same phone that we work with every other day. We do update family back home every few days to let them know that we are having a great time. Usually they want none of our travel photos, just our sons!

We don’t feel the need to post on Instagram immediately to show everyone else what adventures we have been up to. Simply because we just want to be in the present. We want to spend precious travel moments with the people that matter most. Instagram likes can come later.

We want our stories to be helpful for families who are considering travelling. Everything from saving for a trip, planning, going on long haul flights and enjoying the trip itself.

Humans are not made to sit at the desk from 9 to 5. We, adults need a break, so does our kids! Travel helps us to “reset” our buttons. To be away from day-to-day grind. To be away from our phones. Away from the never ending negative news. To bond with our kids without distractions. To spend quality time together. Building lasting memories as a family. That is why we love sharing our travel experiences.

Coming home after each travel remind us every time that the world is a big and wonderful place. It makes us wonder why the news and social media feed are so negative most of the times. Travel teaches us to go beyond these and truly appreciate the world we live in. There is so much more to life.
